Kazakhstan plans to boost coal exports to 32 million mt by 2014

By 2014 Kazakhstan plans to boost its annual coal exports to 32 million mt, Kazakhstan's Deputy Industry and New Technologies Minister Duisenbai Turganov has stated, adding that current coal exports stand at 20-22 million mt.
 
Mr. Turganov said that in order to meet the country's needs, coal production is planned to be increased to 123 million mt in 2014 from about 100 million mt planned this year. In 2009, Kazakhstan's coal output amounted to 94.3 million mt.

"The total investment in the coal industry will amount to about Tenge 235 billion ($1.6 billion) by 2014," Mr. Turganov said.
