Kazakhstan extends ban on scrap exports for another six months

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Industry and Construction has extended the ban on ferrous and non-ferrous scrap exports for another six months effective as of November 2, according to media reports. The ban includes ferrous waste, used pipes, rails and other railway parts.

The ban is planned to ensure raw material for local steel producers, who are in shortage of scrap.
