Kardemir produces Turkey’s thickest wire rod

Turkish steel producer Kardemir has announced that it has produced 52 mm wire rod, the first time that wire rod of such thickness has been produced in Turkey. In addition, the company also highlighted that, besides being Turkey’s thickest wire rod specification, 52 mm wire rod is also only produced in very few facilities around the world.

Kardemir CEO Hüseyin Soykan stated that the new product will be exported to international markets as well.
