Major Indian steelmaker JSW Steel (JSW) has announced its financial and operational results for the first half ended September 30 of the financial year 2017-18, posting a net profit of INR 14.39 billion ($220.32 million), down 17.5 percent from the corresponding period of the previous financial year. In the given period, JSW's sales revenues increased by 19.8 percent to INR 328.75 billion ($5.03 billion), compared to the first half of the previous year.
During the first half of the current financial year, JSW Steel produced 7.86 million mt of crude steel, remaining almost stable year on year, while achieving finished steel sales of 7.43 million mt, rising by four percent year on year.
