JSW Steel’s output surges by 8.5 percent in February

On Thursday, March 5, JSW Steel, one of India's largest steelmakers, said its steel production surged by 8.5 percent to 331,000 mt in February on the back of improved demand from the automobile, construction and white goods sectors, compared with production of 305,000 mt in the corresponding month of the previous year.

JSW Steel's February production figures include 18,262 mt from the trial run of its new 3 million mt blast furnace.

In the flat rolled products segment, JSW Steel's output rose by 3.9 percent to 257,000 mt. As for long rolled products, output increased by an impressive 66.4 percent to 43,000 mt.
