JSW Steel's crude steel production up 3 percent in Q1 FY2020

According to India's JSW Steel's Limited quarterly financial report, JSW Steel produced 4.24 million mt of crude steel in Q1 FY2020 (April-June), up 3 percent compared to 4.12 million mt in the same quarter FY2019. Both flat and long steel output also increased at the company compared to Q1 FY2019. Flat steel output increased to 2.9 million mt, up 1 percent from 2.87 million mt while long steel output was reported at 1.05 million, up 13 percent from 0.93 million mt. The increase in long products is part of JSW’s strategy to increase market share in the construction sector.

JSW Steel has a capacity of over 18 million mt annually. At the quarterly pace, the company is slated to produce 17 million mt in FY2020.
