JSW Steel’s crude steel output surges 88 percent in Q3 FY 2009-10

India's largest private sector steelmaker JSW Steel announced on December 5 that its crude steel output in the third quarter of the current Indian fiscal year amounted to 1.47 million metric tons, increasing by 88 percent over the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

Meanwhile, the company's crude steel production during the first nine months of the current fiscal year increased by 59 percent year on year, totaling 4.39 million metric tons.

JSW's flat rolled product output surged 51 percent, reaching 941,000 metric tons in Q3 FY 2009-10, while its longs production totaled 237,000 metric tons, climbing by 199 percent, both compared to Q3 FY 2008-09.
