JSW Steel closes blast furnace for repairs

Indian steelmaker JSW Steel Ltd. announced on February 19 that it has shut down one of its blast furnaces for 30-60 days for repairs after a fire. The blast furnace constitutes 20 percent of the company's total hot metal capacity and the consequent financial loss due to the shutdown has been insured, the company said in a statement.
