Jindal Steel and Power to increase capacity

Indian steel producer Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL), which focuses on domestic infrastructure sector, is planning to increase production of structural steel and beams used in construction. Moreover the company plans to produce the longest rails for Indian railways. The company will increase long products capacity from 400'000 tons to 1.14 million tons with an investment of Rupees 5.5 billion ($119 million). JSPL also aims to increase its annual production capacity in 2-3 years. As reported by SteelOrbis yesterday, under expansion plan, JSPL ordered a sinter plant from Outokumpu Technology. The company will invest Rupees 20 billion ($435 million) to increase its production capacity to 2.4 million tons from 1.15 million tons.
