Jinan Steel commences production on 1,700 mm line

SteelOrbis Shanghai On November 20, Jinan Steel commenced production on its new 1,700 mm wide continuous casting line for hot rolling after 10 months of trial production and after passing acceptance tests. Adopting the ASP medium and thin slab processing technology of Anshan Iron & Steel (Angang), the production line was constructed by domestic manufacturers. The Angang Group was responsible for the line's engineering design, technology integration and for the construction work involved. Its planned annual capacity is 2.5 million mt of hot rolled sheets.
