On August 27, Shandong Province-based Jinan Steel announced its ex-factory prices for certain products. The details are as follows:
1. Medium plate:
The price of medium plate has been reduced by RMB 300/mt ($44/mt) while heavy plate is down by RMB 200/mt ($29/mt). After the adjustment, 20 mm material costs RMB 6,340/mt ($927/mt).
The price of shipbuilding plate has gone down by RMB 450/mt ($66/mt), and so CCSB 20 mm is at RMB 7,100/mt ($1,038/mt).
2. HR and CR
The producer's prices of HR and CR have decreased by RMB 200/mt ($29/mt). As a result, Q235A 4.5 mm HR costs RMB 5,400/mt ($789/mt) while SPCC 1.0 mm CR is now at RMB 6,400/mt ($936/mt).
3. Rebar and sections
The prices of rebar and section steel have declined by RMB 100/mt ($15). Thus, the price of HRB 335 16-25 mm is at RMB 5,200/mt ($760/mt), while 16# channel steel now stands at RMB 5,200/mt ($760/mt).
The above prices include taxes (17 percent VAT) and are effective as of August 27.
