Jiexiu Xintai commissions section mill supplied by SMS Meer

Shanxi Province-based Chinese steelmaker Jiexiu Xintai Iron & Steel Co. has commissioned its section mill supplied by German plantmaker SMS Meer. The mill with an annual capacity of 1.2 million mt of steel beams will be used to roll beams in a size range of 200-1,000 mm.
 
The XH® universal beam rolling process employed by the mill allows particularly large beams to be rolled with close tolerance, increasing the quality of the pro¬ducts. This technology is in use in a total of 16 plants.
 
The plant at Jiexiu Xintai is the ninth section mill to be supplied to China by SMS Meer.
