According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's stainless flat steel exports totaled 66,578 metric tons in April this year, falling by 23 percent month on month and down 14.2 percent compared to April 2011.
Meanwhile, in the January-April period of the current year Japan's stainless flat steel exports amounted to 271,784 metric tons, falling by 15.45 percent year on year.
In the first four months of the year, Japanese stainless flat steel exports to China totaled 64,960 metric tons, while exports to South Korea amounted to 62,453 metric tons, decreasing by 10.4 percent and 7.4 percent respectively, both compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
