According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's stainless flat steel exports totaled 61,155 metric tons in July this year, falling by 14.2 percent month on month and down 17.1 percent compared to July 2011.
In the first seven months of the current year, Japan's stainless flat steel exports amounted to 467,358 metric tons, falling by 14.6 percent year on year.
In July this year, Japanese stainless flat steel exports to China totaled 12,879 metric tons, while exports to South Korea amounted to 12,284 metric tons, decreasing by 29 percent and 27.35 percent respectively, both compared to the same month of the previous year. In July 2012, the country's stainless flat steel exports to Thailand amounted to 8,891 mt, up 24.7 percent, exports to Taiwan totaled 7,944 mt, rising 4.8 percent, while stainless flat steel exports to Hong Kong came to 3,092 mt, down 10.5 percent, all on year-on-year basis.
Meanwhile, Japanese stainless flat steel imports in July amounted to 12,014 metric tons, rising by 6.6 percent year on year.
