Japan’s stainless flat steel exports down 15.8 percent in Q1

According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's stainless flat steel exports totaled 86,868 metric tons in March this year, rising by 18.9 percent month on month and down 8.9 percent compared to March 2011.

Meanwhile, in the January-March period of 2012, Japan's stainless flat steel exports amounted to 201,273 metric tons, falling by 15.8 percent year on year.

In the first three months of the year, Japanese stainless flat steel exports to South Korea totaled 48,250 metric tons, while exports to China amounted to 47,532 metric tons, decreasing by 1.2 percent and up 16.4 percent respectively, both compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
