Japan’s scrap exports at over 3 million mt in first five months

According to Japan’s custom data, Japan exported 3.04 million mt of ferrous scrap in the first five months of 2018.

During the period, Japan exported 1.80 million mt (59 percent) to South Korea, 0.57 million mt (19 percent) to Vietnam, 0.44 million mt (14 percent) to China, 0.16 million mt (5 percent) to Taiwan, and 0.07 (2 percent) to other destinations including Bangladesh.
