Japan’s automobile output rises for ninth straight month in July

Japan's automobile production in July this year was recorded at 866,762 units, according to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA). The figure represents an increase of 124,515 units or 16.8 percent compared to the same month of 2009. July was the ninth consecutive month for which an increase on year-on-year basis was recorded.
 
Domestic sales in July stood at 486,606 vehicles, up 12.9 percent as compared with the same month of the previous year.
 
Meanwhile, the country's automobile exports rose for the seventh month in a row in July this year compared to the corresponding month of 2009, totaling 422,641 units, up 82,993 units or 24.4 percent. The revenue generated by these exports amounted to $12.39 billion, including $8.86 billion for vehicles and $3.53 billion for parts. This revenue indicates a rise of 35.6 percent as compared to July 2009.
