Japanese automobile production in February this year totaled 952,268 units, increasing by 156,612 units or 19.7 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and indicating a year-on-year rise for the fifth consecutive month, according to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA).
Domestic sales in February this year in Japan stood at 519,626 vehicles, up 29.5 percent as compared with the same month of the previous year. In the meantime, the country's automobile exports in February amounted to 454,449 units, up by 22,887 units or 5.3 percent year on year, increasing compared to the same month of the previous year for the second consecutive month. The revenue generated by these exports amounted to $14.6 billion, including $10.9 billion for vehicles and $3.67 billion for parts. This is an increase of $1.5 billion or 11.5 percent as compared with $13.1 billion recorded for the same month of the previous year.
