Japanese auto output down for third straight month in Nov

Japanese automobile production in November this year totaled 767,530 units, decreasing by 70,598 units or 8.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. November was the third consecutive month in which a year-on-year decrease was registered in Japan's automobile output, according to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA).

Domestic sales in November this year in Japan stood at 393,942 vehicles, down 0.4 percent as compared with the same month of the previous year. In the meantime, the country's automobile exports in November amounted to 382,778 units, down by 59,894 units or 13.5 percent year on year, constituting the fourth consecutive month of year-on-year decrease. The revenue generated by these exports amounted to $12.4 billion, including $9.2 billion for vehicles and $3.2 billion for parts. This is a decrease of $1.36 million or 9.9 percent as compared with $13.8 billion recorded for the same month of the previous year.
