Japanese auto output down 6.7 percent in August

According to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), in August this year Japanese automobile production (including passenger cars, trucks and buses) totaled 634,747 units, decreasing by 45,840 units or 6.7 percent compared to the same month of 2013, constituting the second consecutive decrease on year-on-year basis.
 
Domestic automobile sales in August of the current year in Japan stood at 333,471 vehicles, down 9.1 percent as compared with the same month of 2013. In the meantime, the country's automobile exports in August amounted to 322,838 units, down by 28,367 units or 8.1 percent year on year.
