Japanese automobile production in September this year totaled 883,593 units, decreasing by 41,410 units or 4.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In August, a 1.8 percent year-on-year increase in production was seen after Japan's automobile output had decreased for 10 consecutive months on year-on-year basis, according to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA).
Domestic sales in September this year in Japan stood at 462,192 vehicles, down 2.1 percent as compared with the same month of the previous year. In the meantime, the country's automobile exports in September amounted to 477,911 units, up by 38,681 units or 8.8 percent, increasing compared to the same month of the previous year for the second consecutive month. The revenue generated by these exports amounted to $15.5 billion, including $11.2 billion for vehicles and $4.3 billion for parts. This is an increase of $2.5 billion or 19.4 percent as compared with $13 billion recorded for the same month of the previous year.
