Iranian state-owned steel plants produced 7.88 million metric tons of crude steel in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2009) which represents an increase of four percent compared with the corresponding period of the last Iranian year, according to the Iranian Mining and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
Meanwhile, IMIDRO also reported that in the given period, state-owned steel plants exported 825,000 metric tons of crude steel with a year-on-year increase of 71 percent.
