Ukrainian steel pipe and railway wheel producer Interpipe has launched two new production floors for scrap processing at Dnepropetrovsk Vtormet. These facilities are equipped with a shearing press produced by France-based AKROS and scrap re-loaders made by Germany-based Sennebogen. The production capacity of one floor is 16-30 mt of scrap per hour.

The total volume of investments to upgrade the existing equipment and to purchase new machinery for the Dnepropetrovsk and Lugansk scrap processing facilities will be $8.5 million. In 2011-2012 Interpipe will invest approximately $30 million in the development of its network of regional scrap procurement facilities. So far, Interpipe has already purchased five new facilities, two of which - in Zhitomir and Poltava - were acquired at the start of December this year. Interpipe plans to launch 19 production floors in various regions of Ukraine.
