According to India’s custom data, India imported 4.57 million mt of scrap in 2017. Included in the total was 0.74 million mt from the US (16 percent of the total), 0.66 million mt from UAE (14 percent), 0.48 million mt from UK (11 percent), 0.26 million mt from South Africa (6 percent), 0.22 million mt (5 percent), 0.19 million mt from Hong Kong (4 percent), 0.18 million mt from Singapore (4 percent), 0.17 million mt from Malaysia (4 percent), 0.16 million mt from China (4 percent), and 1.51 million mt from other sources (33 percent).
