Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL), expects to gain incremental coking coal production of about 2.98 million mt per year through installation of longwall mining equipment at its underground Monidih mine in eastern India, a company source said on Thursday, October 26.

The source said that the complete longwall mining equipment will be supplied by Caterpillar, US and supply and installation will be completed by 2019, enabling BCCL to secure additional coking coal production.

BCCL, the sole domestic coking coal supplier, currently produces an average of 37 million mt per year.
