India’s Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has launched an antidumping (AD) investigation into the imports of Brazilian, Chinese and German high speed steel—a subset of tool steel—of non-cobalt grade, according to a DGTR notice.

The probe follows a request of local producer M/s Graphite Limited. M/s Graphite produces about 83 percent of the product in India.

The products under investigation fall under Indian HTS codes 72281010 and 72281090, DGTR said.

DGTR said the investigation period goes from April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018, however, the injury investigation period covers the data of the previous three years, from April 2014 to March 2017.
