Henan Qingshan Jinhui Co., Ltd to build SS slab line

Henan Qingshan Jinhui Stainless Steel Industry Co., Ltd, based in Changge city in the central Chinese province of Henan, on June 10 commenced construction work on a new stainless slab production line which is to have an annual production capacity of 400,000 metric tons.

The new production line constitutes the third phase of the producer's stainless steel slab advanced processing project which is being implemented at a total investment cost of RMB 1 billion ($145 million). The first two phases have already been completed and put into production.

For the third phase, the company, which was founded in 2005, is investing RMB 110 million ($16 million) to build a continuous slab caster which will annually produce 400,000 metric tons of more than 10 types of qualified slabs, including stainless steel, carbon steel and line pipe steel. All equipment installation and trial work in the project is expected to be completed before the end of the current year and production is due to commence at the beginning of next year. With this new production line, Henan Qingshan Jinhui Co., Ltd will altogether be able to produce one million metric tons of stainless steel slabs per year, which will strengthen its leading role in the stainless steel industry in Henan Province.
