Hebei Steel still ranks second globally in crude steel output

Chinese steel producer Hebei Iron and Steel Group (Hebei Steel) has announced that in 2010 its crude steel output reached 44.78 million mt, ranking second among all global steel producers for the second consecutive year. Luxembourg-based ArcelorMittal remained in first place, while Chinese steel giant Baosteel Group was ranked third.
 
As per the Hebei Steel statement, the company's total assets at the end of 2010 came to RMB 282.8 billion ($43 billion), while its operating revenue for the year reached RMB 227.1 billion ($152 million).
