Heavy truck sales in China increase by 26 percent in January-April 2026

In the January-April period this year, heavy truck sales (including chassis and tractors) in China amounted to 443,000 units, up 26.0 percent year on year, according to the preliminary data issued by cvworld.cn, a Chinese auto industry information service provider.

In April alone, heavy truck sales in China amounted to 125,000 units, down 10.0 percent month on month, while increasing by 43.0 percent year on year, which was the highest level in a month of April in the past five years. The rapid growth in April signaled that the impact of the peak season for sales was notably pronounced in the given month, with the industry showing signs of acceleration at the beginning of the second quarter.
