Has Celik increases steel wire rope production by 100%

According to recent reports from the industry Has Celik and Halat Sanayi Ticaret A.S., founded in1989 and now being one of the leading steel wire rope supplier in Europe, doubled its annual steel wire rope production up to 10'000 tons from its current level of around 5'000 tons. Has Celik stated that they are producing mainly for export with the purpose to meet rising demand from abroad and strengthen its presence in Turkey and Europe. Thus with this aim, they planned a series of investments and in line with these investments they installed a wire drawing, torsion and patent line unit at a cost of $5 million and increased steel wire rope production. It is also reported that the company is producing ropes in various steel constructions for usage in vessels, elevators, cranes and general engineering with dia. from 6 mm to 60 mm in two seperate plants. Has Celik located in Kayseri, making exports to US, Middle East and North Africa added EU nations to its export markets upon an agreement reached during EU's anti-damping review on steel wire rope imports.
