Guryevsk Metallurgical Works almost doubles steel output in April

Guryevsk Metallurgical Works (GMZ), a subsidiary of Russian steel producer ESTAR Holding (ESTAR), has announced that in April this year it increased its crude steel output by 87.8 percent compared to the same period last year, producing 18,600 mt.

Meanwhile, in April 2010, GMZ increased its rolled steel product output by 410 percent to 19,900 mt compared to just 3,900 mt in the same period last year, and upped its steel grinding balls production by 91 percent  to 8,400 mt compared to 4,400 mt produced in April 2009.

In January-April 2010, GMZ produced 57,600 mt of steel - up 47 percent, 74,500 mt of rolled steel products -  up 286 percent, including 32,000 mt of steel grinding balls - up 113, all compared to the same period last year.
