Globe Specialty Metals, a Miami, Florida-based worldwide producer of silicon metal and related derivative alloys, has requested the US Department of Commerce (DOC) to delay its preliminary determination on silicon metal dumping from Australia, Brazil and Norway until October. The initial date for preliminary determination was scheduled for August 15. The basis for the delay is the need for additional time to evaluate surveys and investigation results.

Globe Specialty Metals, a subsidiary of Ferroglobe, has facilities in Ohio, West Virginia, Alabama and New York as well as internationally in Argentina, Canada, China and South Africa.
