German rolled steel prices still decline year on year

As reported by Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in September this year the producer prices of industrial products in Germany rose by 1.7 percent compared to September 2011 and were up 0.3 percent compared to the previous month of the current year.

Destatis noted that in September this year energy was more expensive by around 3.1 percent compared with the same month of the previous year, and was up 0.4 percent month on month. Without considering energy, producer prices were up 1.1 percent on year-on-year basis and rose by 0.3 percent compared to August.

In September, German producers' rolled steel prices fell by 5.8 percent compared to the same month of 2011, continuing its downwards movement on year-on-year basis since the beginning of the year.
