According to a report released by the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in March this year the import price of iron ore increased by 78.6 percent year on year in Germany, while it declined by 1.7 percent as compared to February.
Meanwhile, in March, nickel imported by Germany for steel production was 21.6 percent more expensive compared to March 2010 and was down 3.4 percent compared to the previous month.
In March this year, the import price of pig iron, steel and ferroalloys in Germany rose by 23.1 percent year on year, while the month-on-month increase rate was recorded at 0.6 percent.
