German crude steel output totals 3.17 million mt in September

According to the data released by Germany's Federal Statistical Office, in September German mills produced 1.93 million metric tons of pig iron, marking a decrease of 25.9 percent year on year, while the country's crude steel output amounted to 3.17 million metric tons, down 21.7 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in the first nine months of the year, Germany's pig iron output totaled 13.54 million mt and its crude steel production amounted to 22.65 million metric tons, declining by 40.6 percent and 37.5 percent respectively, both compared to the corresponding period of 2008.
