In the January-February period this year, Georgia's total external trade turnover with Turkey, which is the top trading partner of the country, amounted to $224.27 million, including exports of $25.98 million, down 23.18 percent, and imports worth $198.29 million, up 2.76 percent, both on year-on-year basis, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
In the first two months of this year, semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel ranked third among Georgia's most exported products to Turkey, amounting to 4,715 metric tons, down 65.27 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, the value of these exports totaled $1.87 million, down 71.45 percent year on year.
On the other hand, in the given month, Georgia's imports of tubes and pipes of iron from Turkey totaled $7.22 million, more than double on year-on-year basis.
