According to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), in the January-May period of this year Georgia's ferrous scrap exports to Turkey, the country's major trading partner, amounted to 144,556 metric tons, increasing by 31.49 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports came to $39.91 million, up 75.58 percent year on year, indicating that the country's average export price for ferrous scrap to Turkey was $276/mt, up from $207/mt in the correponding period of 2009.
Meanwhile, in the given period Georgia's ferroalloy exports to Turkey regressed by 56 percent as compared to the January-May period of 2009, reaching 15,112 metric tons.
