Georgia’s scrap exports to Turkey rise by 31 percent in Jan-Apr

According to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), in the January-April period of this year Georgia's ferrous scrap exports to Turkey, the country's major trade partner, amounted to 105,957 metric tons, increasing by 31 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports came to $28.53 million, up 64.54 percent year on year, indicating that the country's average export price for ferrous scrap to Turkey was $269/mt, up from $215/mt in the correponding period of 2009.
 
Meanwhile, in the given period Georgia's ferroalloy exports to Turkey halved as compared to the January-April period of 2009, reaching 9,324 metric tons.
