French crude steel output up 22.59 percent in Jan over Dec

According to the latest data regarding crude steel production in France released by the French Steel Federation (FFA), in January this year French crude steel production amounted to 1,357,950 metric tons, up by 11.1 percent year on year and up 22.59 percent month on month.

In January, steel production in France using electric arc furnaces (EAF) rose 12.8 percent year on year, amounting to 535,050 mt, while steel production with blast furnace (BF) technology totaled 822,900 mt, increasing by 10.1 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, the FFA also noted that domestic crude steel production in January this year was still 15.7 percent below the January 2008 production figure.
