France's manufacturing output in August increased by 0.6 percent month on month, after a 0.5 percent month-on-month growth in July, according to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). In the June-August quarter of this year, France’s manufacturing output was up by 1.9 percent year on year and increased by 1.1 percent quarter on quarter.
In August, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, rose by 0.6 percent compared to July, after a 0.6 percent decrease month on month in July. In the June-August quarter, the country’s production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, declined by 0.5 percent compared to the previous quarter.
On the other hand, in August production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry fell by 4.7 percent on month-on-month basis after a 2.3 percent month-on-month growth recorded in the previous month, while the output of the domestic construction industry was up by 0.2 percent month on month in the given month after a 1.3 percent decrease in July compared to June. In the June-August quarter, output of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry declined by 0.2 percent and output of the domestic construction industry was up by 2.5 percent, both quarter on quarter.
