France's manufacturing output in July increased by 0.5 percent month on month, after a 0.7 percent month-on-month growth in June, according to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). In the May-July quarter of this year, France’s manufacturing output was up by 1.1 percent year on year and increased by 0.5 percent quarter on quarter.
In July, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, decreased by 0.6 percent compared to June, after a 0.9 percent increase month on month in June. In the May-July quarter, the country’s production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, declined by 1.8 percent compared to the previous quarter.
On the other hand, in July production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry rose by 2.3 percent on month-on-month basis after a 1.4 percent month-on-month growth recorded in the previous month, while the output of the domestic construction industry was down by 1.8 percent month on month in the given month after five percent increase in June compared to May. In the May-July quarter, output of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry fell by 0.1 percent and output of the domestic construction industry was up by 0.4 percent, both quarter on quarter.
