France’s manufacturing output down 3.1 percent in Q2

According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), the country's manufacturing production in June this year remained almost stable compared to May with a slight increase of 0.1 percent, following a revised month-on-month decrease of 1.1 percent recorded in May.
 
During the second quarter of this year, output decreased in the manufacturing sector by 1.2 percent quarter-on-quarter and was down by 3.1 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2011.

In June, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, rose by 0.4 percent, the production of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry decreased by three percent, while the output of the construction industry increased slightly by 0.7 percent, all compared to the previous month.

Meanwhile, in the second quarter the production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, fell by 1.5 percent, the production of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry decreased by 4.1 percent, while the output of the construction industry increased by 2.9 percent, all compared to the first quarter of this year.
