France’s manufacturing output falls 1% in May from Apr

According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), the country's manufacturing production in May this year decreased by one percent compared to April, following a revised month-on-month decrease of 0.9 percent recorded in the previous month.

In May, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, fell by 1.1 percent, the production of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry decreased by 0.7 percent, while the output of the construction industry increased slightly by 0.4 percent, all compared to the previous month.
