France's metal industry output down 0.4% in January from December

France's manufacturing output in January this year decreased by 0.1 percent month on month, after a 1.1 percent increase in December 2014, and decreased by 0.7 percent year on year, according to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE).
 
In January, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, decreased by 0.4 percent month on month, after a month-on-month increase of 0.6 percent in December 2014.
 
On the other hand, in January production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry saw an increase of 1.4 percent on month-on-month basis after a 0.6 percent month-on-month decrease recorded in the previous month, while the output of the domestic construction industry decreased by 0.2 percent month on month in January, after an increase of 1.4 percent in December 2014 over November 2014.
