In August, due to strict environmental protection measures to be implemented in Tangshan and in other parts of Hebei Province, the crude steel ouptut of the province is expected to decline, while uncertainties will result from the hot and rainy weather conditions, the decline in infrastructure investment, and trade frictions between the US and China, all of which will negatively affect demand for finished steel, as stated by the Hebei Province Metallurgical Industry Association. According to the association, finished steel prices in Hebei Province in August will likely move on a fluctuating trend at the current relatively high levels, within a limited range.
