Swiss-headquartered resources company
Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian
iron ore assets, has announced that in 2012 its overall
iron ore pellet
production decreased by 1.2 percent year on year to 9.7 million mt. The company's overall pellet
production in the fourth quarter of 2012 amounted to 2.53 million mt, decreasing slightly compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
In 2012,
Ferrexpo's pellet
production from its own raw materials increased by 2.6 percent year on year, amounting to 9.3 million mt, while its pellet
production from third party concentrate saw a decrease of 47.9 percent year on year to 389,100 mt. In the last quarter of the year, the company's pellet
production from its own raw materials increased by 1.3 percent to 2.36 million mt, while its pellet
production from third party concentrate declined by 23.4 percent to 167,200 mt, both year on year.
Meanwhile, for the whole of 2012,
Ferrexpo's
iron ore production almost remained unchanged at 29.76 million mt, while its
iron ore concentrate
production saw a 1.9 percent rise year on year to 11.7 million mt. In the fourth quarter of the year, the
iron ore production of
Ferrexpo decreased by 8.2 percent to 7.3 million mt, while its
iron ore concentrate
production amounted to 3 million mt, rising slightly, both year on year.
