Ferrexpo increases Q1 pellet output with inclusion of Yeristovo production

Swiss-headquartered resources company Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced that in the first quarter of 2013 its overall iron ore pellet production increased by 10.2 percent year on year to 2.55 million mt, including the results from Ferrexpo Yeristovo Mining that achieved first iron ore production in July 2012.

In the given quarter, Ferrexpo's pellet production from its own raw materials increased by 10.1 percent year on year, amounting to 2.48 million mt, while its pellet production from third party concentrate saw an increase of 15.1 percent year on year to 65,700 mt.

In January-March, Ferrexpo Yeristovo Mining's iron ore production amounted to 1.22 million mt, while iron ore production from Ferrexpo Poltova Mining decreased by 5.3 percent to 7.14 million mt, compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
