Ferrexpo increases pellet production for third quarter

Swiss iron ore company Ferrexpo has announced its production results for the third quarter of 2011, posting a year-on-year increase in its total pellet production.

In the third quarter of 2011, Ferrexpo produced 2.33 million mt of pellet from its own raw material, up 2.8 percent compared to the previous quarter and up 1.5 percent compared to the same quarter of 2010. In the given period, production of higher grade 65 percent Fe pellets, increased 12.3 percent year on year to 1.07 million mt.
 
According to the company statement, August saw the second highest monthly production in the company's history, recording 900,000 mt of pellet.
