Germany remains strategically important for Italy-based Feralpi Group despite the slowdown of the German locomotive. This is the message launched by President Giuseppe Pasini, who met the president of the Saxon parliament, Matthias Rößler in Riesa, Germany, on September 6. It is in Riesa that Feralpi Stahl has its headquarters with an avant-garde steel mill equipped with an electric furnace, a ladle furnace, and a continuous caster for the production of rebar and wire rod.

The meeting between Giuseppe Pasini and Matthias Rößler took place at the Tag der Sachsen, the most important folk festival in Saxony. "Germany continues to be a competitive center of gravity for our Group - said Pasini -. It is a backbone that we want to strengthen further. This is the direction of the new maxi-investment of €60 million which, over a two-year period, will lead the production of ESF Elbe-Stahlwerke Feralpi GmbH to reach 1.3 million mt of steel a year, consolidating its leadership position in the European steel industry".

"If it is true that in this phase of economic slowdown even Germany lags behind - added the president of the Feralpi Group -, it is a fact that we can see its ability to react in large infrastructure projects that will support the development of the country and for which Feralpi will provide its solutions and knowledge".
