Brazil exported 30,700 mt of heavy plates in December, against 11,900 mt in November, according to SISCOMEX.
The exports of December were destined to Pakistan (14,600 mt at $385/mt, certainly not a market price), Europe (12,200 mt at $635/mt), South America (3,500 mt at $653/mt), and Trinidad and Tobago (400 mt at $661/mt), FOB conditions.
The exporters were Gerdau (27,400 mt), Usiminas (3,100 mt), and CSN (300 mt), while small volumes were shipped by CSN and by traders.
Meanwhile Brazil imported 3,700 mt of heavy plates in December, against 2,900 mt in November.
The origins of the imports were China (2,400 mt at $655/mt), and Europe (1,300 mt), also FOB conditions.
